U.K. closes visa sections

Islamabad May 22 .Britain today closed down its visa sections in Pakistan and warned its citizens to be on their guard in view of a series of threats against British interests, a High Commission official said.

``In response to the number of recent threats against British interests we have decided to close all our visa sections in Pakistan,'' said the spokeswoman at the Islamabad High Commission.

Asked whether British citizens have been ordered to leave Pakistan, she said: ``Not yet, but we are constantly reviewing our travel advice.'' — AFP
