Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Prime Minister has called on the nation to get ready for a "decisive'' war. Aren't all wars supposed to be fought to bring about lasting peace? Has peace prevailed after all our wars with Pakistan? Why don't our leaders tell us what the war is going to cost? A certain fallout of a war will be economic disaster. At last Pakistan would have succeeded in dragging India along with it to total economic ruin. Kargil will be a picnic compared to a full-scale war, not to speak of the nuclear doomsday scenario. S.B. Vijayaragahvan, Coimbatore, T.N.
