Stocks bounce back

MUMBAI MAY 24 . After an eight-session losing patch, stocks today bounced back lifting the Sensex by 142 points at close on the Bombay Stock Exchange on hectic buying by punters and foreign institutional investors. Sentiment was also bolstered by encouraging reports about the Government's fresh steps on disinvestment of its stakes in public sector enterprises.
