Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is very important that India does not let Kashmir snowball into an international issue. Pakistan has been desperately trying to let the issue gain international recognition and is craving for international intervention. The U.S., in particular, will try to meddle in Kashmir. We must bear in mind that the U.S. had its share of responsibility in the growth of Islamic fundamentalism and has been a steadfast ally of Pakistan. The new-born proclivity in India is only to alienate Pakistan which has been sending ominous signals. The offer of space technology by the U.S. in return for India's restraint shows the scant respect it has for India's sovereignty. India should tread carefully on the diplomatic front and should not fall a prey to the booby-trap of the U.S.
Krishna Prasad,
