Letters to the Editor
Sir, Recently in a prestigious quiz in Bangalore, I heard ``Urs'' as answer for a Karnataka family name meaning ``Lord and Master'' rejected as wrong; Joan of Arc was stated to have been burnt at the stake for not wearing women's clothes which were denied to her by her jailers; and a (helpful!) clue was given by the quiz master mentioning the Rolling Stones in connection with a question for which the answer was Bob Dylan, who had no connection whatever with the Rolling Stones. May God save us from such quizzes!
R. Kamala,
