5 killed in shelling

Srinagar May 26 . Five civilians were killed and 10 injured in the Ranbir Singh Pura sector of Jammu region last night when Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing on the areas near the International Border.

Police sources said there was mortar shelling in Korotanna and Begga areas and that the injured included two infants and a women. The condition of three is said to be serious.

Reports of heavy shelling have also come from other parts of the International Border. The Ramgarh sector and Hiranagar witnessed heavy shelling last night, resulting in en masse migration from some of the areas.

There was shelling in Jhangar, Laam and Kari Karmarra along the Line of Control.
