Advisory panel reconstituted

BELLARY May 27. A.R.M. Ismail, General Secretary of the Bellary District unit of the AITUC, has been nominated as a member of the Advisory Committee on Mines Labour Welfare Fund for Karnataka.

The Karnataka Minister for Labour is the Chairman of the committee. The Welfare Commissioner, Labour Welfare Organisation, Bangalore, is the Vice-Chairman (ex-officio). The Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Bangalore; the Director, Mines Safety, Directorate of Mines Safety, Government of India, Ministry of Labour, Bangalore; and Shiraj Sheikh, MLA, are members.

Mr. Basant Poddar, Managing Director, Mineral Enterprises Private Ltd.; U.R. Acharya, Additional General Manager, SMIORE; and R.C. Purohit, Managing Director, Bhoruka Steels Ltd, are the employers' representatives on the committee, and Raje Urs, Kudremukh Mazdoor Sangha (BMS union), and Chandranna of Chitradurga will represent employees. Prathibha, Kudremukh Mazdoor Sangha, will represent women. The Welfare Administrator of the Labour Welfare Organisation, Bangalore, is the Secretary.
