Ritu overcomes Saranya

MUMBAI May 27. B. Saranya, a young cueist from Tamil Nadu, lent the touch of surprise to the opening day of the 5th All-India Ladies Open snooker (sponsored by Om Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance) on Monday, taking a frame off Ritu Shrivastava (Madhya Pradesh) in a Group B round-robin league match at the Bombay Gymkhana.

The latter won 43-16, 41-43, 44-35 against a talented junior who can only get sharper with experience.
