The awards will be given away on June 4 at a function in which the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, is expected to participate, according to D.V.S. Raju, Chairman, A.P. State Film Television and Theatre Development Corporation. At a press conference on Monday, he said the list of award winning plays would be announced on the evening of June 3. The first and second prizes for Poetic Drama (padya natakam) come with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 20,000 with a citation, respectively. In the category of Social Drama, the first and second prizes are a cash award of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 with a citation, respectively. For Social Playlets, the first and second prizes are Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000, with a citation, respectively. Among the other prizes, the most important one is the NTR Memorial Award for eminent theatre personalities that comes with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000. For all the entries in the finals, there will be a cash prize of Rs. 15,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 7,500 for Poetic Drama, Social Drama and Social Playlet, respectively.
