Letters to the Editor
Sir, This is with reference to your Editorial ``War no option''. More than enough opportunities have been afforded to Pakistan to renounce its ways and come round for the peaceful resolution of all disputes. The first inkling of Pakistan's sincerity would be for it to stop cross-border terrorism, which it is actively promoting from its soil. The U.S. is playing a double game by counselling restraint on the part of India but being relentlessly uncomprising and ruthlessly active when its own interests are involved. It is time the U.S. proved its bonafides of campaigning against `global terrorism' by acting in tandem with India.
R. Sadagopan,
Sir, If the U.S. really wants peaceful coexistence in South Asia, it should first rein in Pakistan and press it to end cross-border terrorism. Americans must stop sermonising to India with regard to terrorism. What is the use of holding a dialogue with Pakistan when it is not actually addressing the real issues of militant activity in Kashmir.
K. Ramachandran,
