Software exporters allowed to receive part value in shares

By Our Special Correspondent

MUMBAI MAY 30. The Reserve Bank of India has decided to permit Indian software exporters to receive equity up to 25 per cent of the value of their exports to overseas start-up companies that have initial equity constraints.

Software exporters desirous of availing themselves of this facility can now approach the RBI through their authorised dealers for necessary permission. "The decision has been taken with a view to strengthening the competitive advantage of Indian software exporters," according to an RBI release.
