Faster valuation, earlier results

CHENNAI MAY 30 The results of the Standard X examinations in different streams were announced this year 18 days earlier than last year, the Director of Government Examinations, C. Palanivelu, said here today.

Talking to newspersons after releasing the results of the SSLC, matriculation and Anglo Indian School examinations here, Dr. Palanivelu said 49 valuation centres functioned faster than usual.

The special supplementary examinations, as announced by the Government would be held for Standard XII and X students in June-end or July first week, to enable those who failed this year in one or two subjects, to secure admission in the Plus Two during this academic year itself.

While the mark certificates would be distributed to the candidates on June 7, mark certificates for private candidates would be available at the respective examination centres on June 7 and 8.

Candidates who want to apply for re-totalling of marks could do so within five days from the date of publication of results.

Specimen applications and details of fees would be available with the Inspecting Officer/Regional offices and the Directorate, Dr. Palanivelu said.
