Good show by Dharmapuri schools in SSLC exams

Dharmapuri May 30. Dharmapuri educational district registered a pass percentage of 71 per cent in the SSLC examinations, the results of which were declared today.

Out of 14,495 students, including 6,660 girls, 10,239 passed. Of them, 5,439 were boys and 4,800 girls, registering a pass percentage of 69 per cent and 72 per cent.

In Krishnagiri educational district, of 12,270 students, 7,888 students passed, registering a pass percentage of 64 per cent.

C. Deepalakshmi of the Avvaiar Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Dharmapuri, and N. Indira of the St. Ann's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Krishnagiri, topped in Dharmapuri securing 484 out of 500. R. Chitra Devi of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ilakiyampatti, came second scoring 483, while T. Tamil Vendan of the St. Mary's Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Harur and Sharnya of the Government Girls High School in Krishnagiri came third securing 482.

In the Matriculation exams, of the 839 students, including 329 girls, 788 passed, registering a pass percentage of 94 per cent. Among them, 489 are boys and 299 girls, a pass percentage of 96 per cent and 90.

In Krishnagiri educational district, through the 38 Matriculation schools, 944 students, including 387 girls, appeared for the exams. Of these, 875 students passed.

Six Government high schools and 12 aided and unaided schools in Palani Educational District achieved cent per cent results in the SSLC examinations. Of the 44 Government schools, those at Thennapatti, Manjanaickenpatti, Devanickenpatti, Poomparai, Periakottai, Pannaikadu (Girls) achieved centum.

Of the aided and unaided schools, C.G.M. Gorikadavu, St. Savariar H.S., Naidupuram, Rani Meyyammal, CCC Quarry, Nagammal Memorial, Thandikudi, JRC H.S., Kotthayam, RC, Fatima H.S., Virupatchi, St. Joseph's HS, Perumalmalai, Vivekanandha H.S., Kallimandhayam, St. John's Girls H.S.S., Kodaikanal, St. Xavier H.S., Shenbaganur, Shankar Ponnar H.S.S., Palani and Vivekanandhar H.S.S., Kalanjipuram, achieved centum.

The Collector, J.Radhakrishnan, congratulated the State topper in SSLC, Hemapriya, by handing over a bouquet to her today. On information that Hemapriya of the Jayarani Girls Higher Secondary School here had secured the first rank, the Collector went to the school to convey his good wishes to her.
