Letters to the Editor
Sir, We don't want war. But India's diplomatic offensive to end cross-border terrorism, Islamabad's missile tests and Pervez Musharraf's threat to take the offensive into the Indian territory, all collectively portend war. India and Pakistan should fight terrorism and not each other. Haphazard dropping of missiles will result in the loss of innumerable innocent lives. The life of everyone whether American or Afghan, Hindu or Muslim is precious. We should destroy the evil in man and not the man himself. The United Nations and religious organisations should bring about a drastic change in the outlook of terrorists through negotiation and counselling. Also, the production of missiles of mass destruction and their sale should be banned.
