Pak. flays Russia for arms supply to India

MOSCOW MAY 31. Ahead of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin's proposed meeting with leaders of India and Pakistan, Islamabad has criticised Moscow for ``uninterrupted'' defence supplies to India.

It also warned that Pakistan would use all means at its disposal to defend itself, including nuclear weapons in the event of an Indian aggression. Russia's ``unconstructive'' leaning towards India and its arms supply has ``created unnecessary problems'', the Pakistan Ambassador to Russia, Iftikhar Murshed, was quoted as saying by Interfax news agency today.

Mr. Putin is expected to separately meet the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, and the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, on the sidelines of the Asian Cooperation and Confidence Building Conference in Kazakhstan's capital, Almaty, from June 3 to 5.

Meanwhile, in an interview to the official ITAR-TASS agency, the Indian Ambassador, Krishnan Raghunath, has accused Islamabad of indulging in ``nuclear terrorism''.

``There have been blatantly irresponsible statements coming from Pakistan on possible use of nuclear weapons, which is really nuclearisation of terrorists,'' Mr. Raghunath said. — PTI
