FERA goes

New Delhi, May 31. The Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) was finally buried today.

With its replacement by the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in 2000, the two-year sunset clause under the Act ends today and all pending cases under it, if prosecution not started in courts already, will be either ajudicated or closed for offence not being made out. — PTI
