JKLF acting chairman held

SRINAGAR JUNE 1. The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) acting chairman, Javid Ahmad Mir, and five others were arrested at Maisuma near here, when they were leading a procession urging India and Pakistan to avoid war.

Official sources said the trouble started when a procession led by Mr. Mir was proceeding towards the busy Budshah Chowk from the JKLF headquarters at Maisuma.

They were, however, stopped by police which resulted in a minor clash. Later Mr. Mir and five others were taken into custody. . — UNI
