3 held with pirated software worth crores

NEW DELHI JUNE 1. Three persons, allegedly involved in selling pirated software, were arrested during raids conducted by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi police at Nehru Place on May 30. The police recovered pirated software worth Rs. 12 crores.

The accused, identified as Jitender Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Manmohan Singh, were arrested from their shops located in different commercial buildings in Nehru Place. Vijay Kumar had also been arrested earlier in a case of Copyright violation.

The raids were conducted in association with National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM).

Apart from software, raids have also been conducted and rackets in manufacturing and selling fake consumer goods busted by this wing, the police claimed.
