Humpy beats Dragutin

HYDERABAD JUNE 3. World junior champion Koneru Humpy won her second round game against GM Sahovic Dragutin of Yugoslavia in the First Saturday Grandmasters chess tournament being held in Budapest, according to information received here today.

Playing white, the 15-year-old Bank of Baroda-sponsored girl opted for Anti-King's Indian Defence and sustained the initiative in the middle-game.

On the 37th move, Humpy sacrificed a pawn in the centre and opened the lines of attack on the opponent's king. Soon, the Vijayawada girl wrapped up the issue in 64 moves.
