Girl killed in canal blast

Jaipur June 3. A ten-year-old girl was killed and three children were injured this evening in an anti-personnel mine blast in a branch of the Indira Gandhi canal at Mirzawala village of Sriganganagar district, police said. The four were bathing in the canal when the incident occurred. Of the three injured — all below ten — one was hospitalised in serious condition. The district administration has announced a compensation of Rs. 10,000 to the next of kin of the girl killed and Rs. 5,000 each to those injured.
