Sir, The suggestions to hold a plebiscite in Kashmir by the U.K. media as well as by a few Indians is unacceptable. The Kashmir dispute can only be resolved when Pakistan realises that it cannot win the heart of Kashmiris in the name of religion nor can it defeat India, even in a proxy war. On the Indian side, we must acknowledge the fact that the Kashmiris have reposed faith in India; we must, therefore, reciprocate the gesture and freeze the Kashmir issue for 20 years, as suggested by U.K.-based Kashmiris.
