Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, has said that the BJP-led Government lacks strategy on Kashmir. She should understand that the Congress was responsible for the Kashmir issue and that during the five decades of its rule, none of its Prime Ministers took efforts to settle it. All political parties and the people should stand by the Prime Minister in his attempts to resolve the issue, even if it means a little extra defence expenditure. In the long-run, this would compensate the perennial expenditure we would be incurring if the matter is not solved.
S.V. Chari,
