Letters to the Editor
Sir, In the past 20 years or more, thousands of forms for various requirements are printed both in English and Hindi. For example, one half of the `saral' forms for filing Income Tax returns is printed in English and the other in Hindi. I understand from the Income Tax office and from many leading tax consultants that these forms are filled only in English and the other half is torn off and discarded. Why are the forms not printed based on actual usage as stationery worth crores of rupees is wasted every year.
V.R. Sundaram,
