Vajpayee unwell, says TV

By Vladimir Radyuhin

MOSCOW JUNE 4. The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, showed signs of indisposition and had problems concentrating on the proceedings of the security conference in Almaty, the Russian television reported from the capital of Kazakhstan.

``The Indian Premier has been visibly unwell during his engagements in Almaty,'' a correspondent for the private NTV said on Tuesday in his report from the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. The correspondent drew attention to the fact that Mr. Vajpayee was the only leader whose motorcade included an ambulance. He said Mr. Vajpayee was apparently not listening when the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, addressed the conference, until an aide helped him to put on his earphones.

``Such small things as indisposition may have their bearing on the outcome of crucial talks on resolving the conflict in South Asia,'' the television said.
