Re-poll in 58 booths

NEW DELHI JUNE 4 . Rejecting the DMK and PMK's demand for a complete re-poll in the Saidapet Assembly constituency in Chennai, the Election Commission has ordered a re-poll in 58 polling stations on June 6. Counting will be taken up on June 7.

K.J. Rao, Commission Secretary, told The Hindu that the decision was taken on the recommendations of the two observers, who felt that the byelection held on May 31 in the booths were vitiated.
