Two held for attempt to cast bogus votes

CHENNAI June 6. Two persons, identified by the police as DMK volunteers, were arrested while trying to cast bogus votes during the repoll in Saidapet on Thursday.

A couple in the mid-40s were detained at the booth number 208 in Guindy Lions Club Middle School within the Guindy Industrial Estate, after the AIADMK polling agents raised queries on the their identity. The persons, identified as Selvaraj and wife Navaratinam, later admitted that they were fruit vendors and were offered Rs 100 to cast the votes.
