51 NCP MLAs in Bangalore

BANGALORE JUNE 8. Fiftyone MLAs, including Ministers, of the Nationalist Congress Party, an alliance partner of the Democratic Front Government in Maharashtra, flew into Bangalore today to join their Congress counterparts. The MLAs, who arrived from Indore via Mumbai, joined the Maharashtra Congress MLAs, who are camping in a luxurious resort owned by film personality, Sanjay Khan, on the outskirts of the city.

"There is no problem in winning the confidence vote'', NCP's Maharashtra unit chief, Babanrao Pachpute, told presspersons at the airport. They were received by the Karnataka Minister of State for Power, Veerakumar A. Patil, and the Congress chief whip in the Legislative Council, Saleem Ahmed. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, distanced his Government from their stay here saying it had no role in it.
