Two held

Baramulla June 11. A joint team of the Central Intelligence and the Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested two persons in connection with the former Hurriyat chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani's case.

The team raided the house of the former Special Secretary of the State Public Service Commission, Farooq Ahmad Peer, at Sopore early this morning and took him into custody. Another person, Mohammad Maqbool Lone, an employee of the Lower Jehlum project, was arrested from his Towheed Gunj house here today. Peer and Lone had allegedly brought U.S. dollars and other foreign currency to Mr. Geelani from Saudi Arabia. — UNI
