Bill approved

NEW DELHI June 13. The President, K.R. Narayanan, has given assent to the Delimitation Bill, 2002, passed during the Budget session of Parliament and it has been notified in the Gazette of India as Act No. 33.

The Bill seeks to set up a delimitation commission for effecting delimitations of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies on the basis of 1991 census to correct the distortion in the sizes of electoral constituencies. Three youths detained

Kolkata, June 13. Three youths, one of them in ``uniform'', were detained today for roaming suspiciously around Akashvani Bhavan and the Assembly here. — PTI
