Sir, The National Democratic Alliance has done the best thing by announcing the name of Abdul Kalam as the candidate for the Presidentship. The entire nation is expected to welcome the decision to make the scientific volcano the next President. Here is the danger. If any pluperfect plan is hidden in the NDA's decision it will amount to insulting Dr. Kalam, the scientific community and the nation. There is no guarantee that this action is not emollient in nature to escape from the gruesome Gujarat play. V. Surya Rao Samalkot, A.P.
