England beats Denmark

NIIGATA, (Japan), June 15. England celebrated the Queen's official birthday today by joining arch-rivals Germany in the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a resounding 3-0 victory over Denmark.

After a Rio Ferdinand header in the 4th minute, Michael Owen poached a second in the 22nd before his Liverpool team-mate, Emile Heskey, fired low under keeper, Thomas Sorensen, to make it 3-0 at half-time. England next faces Brazil or Belgium at Shizuoka on June 21.
