Petrol, diesel prices hiked again

New Delhi June 15. State-run oil companies tonight hiked the price, for the second time in 15 days, of petrol and diesel by up to 30 paise a litre, to offset hardened international crude prices.

As per the new prices, effective from midnight tonight, petrol would cost Rs. 29.18 a litre in Delhi and Rs. 33.72 in Mumbai as against the prevailing price of Rs. 28.94 and Rs. 33.45 a litre, oil company sources told PTI here.

Similarly, diesel would now cost Rs. 18.23 a litre in Delhi and Rs. 23.14 a litre in Mumbai as against Rs. 17.99 and Rs. 22.85 a litre presently.

Petrol would now cost Rs. 29.63 a litre in Kolkata and Rs. 31.30 a litre in Chennai while diesel would be sold at Rs. 18.61 a litre in Kolkata and Rs. 19.88 a litre in Chennai.

But the oil companies have cut the prices of naphtha for non-fertilizer use by Rs. 670 a tonne, LSHS by Rs. 470 a tonne and fuel oil by Rs. 440 a kl.

The hike announced today is in step with the increase in global crude oil prices, the sources said.
