Sir, It is difficult to understand the Marxist leader, Somnath Chatterjee's opposition to Abdul Kalam's candidacy for President for the reason that Dr. Kalam's role was limited to science and not to a greater area. If a pilot with no prior experience in politics (Rajiv Gandhi) could become Prime Minister, then why not Dr. Kalam. It is time the Left parties gave up their hypocrisy.
