Slightly modifying his December 10, 2001 order, Justice V. Kanagaraj also stipulated that the Additional Director-General of Police (Crime) monitor the interrogation to be done between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. In his earlier order, the judge said Mr. Gopal could be interrogated for 15 consecutive days, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mr. Gopal filed a petition seeking to limit the interrogation to two days, that too by the ADGP (Crime). Mr. Gopal was included as accused in the case on May 28, and was directed to appear before the Sathyamangalam judicial magistrate by the Thalawadi police within 10 days after that.
