Kalam to figure in Rajasthan textbooks

JAIPUR JUNE 17. The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education has introduced a chapter on the achievements of the Presidential nominee and eminent missile scientist, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in the school syllabi beginning July 1.

``The chapters on Dr. Kalam's scientific contribution and his biography were included in the textbooks in 10th and 12th classes,'' Dr. P.C. Vyas, Board Chairman and Professor of Chemistry, told PTI today.

The proposal to include chapters on Dr. Kalam in English, Hindi and Science subjects was decided in December last year, he said dispelling notions that there were political overtones behind the move. — PTI
