Rajagopal questions Left stand

By Our Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM June 17. The Union Minister of State for Railways and Parliamentary Affairs, O. Rajagopal, has said the left parties by opposing A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's candidature in the Presidential poll and fielding Lakshmi Sahgal have become "left-out parties''.

`'The mentality of the left parties to attack Dr. Kalam is not new to the students of politics. The left parties have been avoiding the national mainstream over the years and their stand during 1942, the 1962 Chinese attack and during the 1975 emergency shows that'', Mr. Rajagopal told a press conference here today. Mr. Rajagopal said Dr. Kalam's writings showed that "he is interested in politics, but not party politics''.
