Guiding students going Down Under

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE June 17. As many as 114 students are ready to set off to Australia for higher studies with the assistance of the International Development Programme (IDP), Bangalore. The IDP organised a pre-departure briefing for students on Saturday. The briefing focussed on information about universities in Australia, budgeting of funds, the procedure to find accommodation, and other details, which will help students get integrated into the Australian culture.

The IDP was formed in 1969 with the aim of enrolling students in India. A non-profit organisation, it works in collaboration with the Australian Government, and is owned by Australian universities. The IDP, Australia, provides total end-to-end solution for students wishing to pursue education there. They counsel students on the courses offered in universities and on the legal and administrative formalities involved in obtaining documents such as passport and visa, job opportunities, etc.

Thomas Cook is working in collaboration with the IDP in providing foreign exchange services to students. College application fees, tuition fees, and living expenses can be paid through Thomas Cook. Money can also be sent home from Australia, courtesy Thomas Cook.

For further details, contact IDP Education Australia Limited, 102 A, Regency Enclave, 4, Magrath Road, Bangalore. Or, call 532 1988, 532 1989.
