The Bench comprising the Chief Justice B. N. Srikrishna and Justice G. Sivarajan had directed them to appear in person when it was brought to their notice that despite a High Court direction, the excise authorities in Kottayam had failed to renew the bar license of a hotel in Kodimatha, Kottayam. When the petition was taken up today, the Government Pleader produced a copy of an order asking the Assistant Excise Commissioner to renew the licence on remitting the required fees.
