Federer advances

DEN BOSCH (NETHERLANDS) JUNE 17. Former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek was ousted from the first round of the Ordina Open 2-6, 5-7 by Switzerland's Roger Federer on Monday.

In the women's draw, which accounts for $170,000 of the total $930,000 prize pot, Russian fourth-seeded Elena Dementieva beat Spain's Marta Marrero 7-6, 6-3, while the eighth seed Martina Sucha of Slovakia beat Germany's Barbara Rittner 7-6, 7-5.
