Madurai student tops engg. rank list

CHENNAI June 19. M. Harris Ahmed of State Bank Officers Colony, Madurai Bypass Road, with a total score of 299.43, has been declared topper in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2002 rank list.

L. Kavya of Kovilpatti with 299.23 marks (who has joined the MBBS course) has been placed second. B.Ananthi of Woraiyur Tiruchi with 299.18 marks and Sriram Sivaram of Duraisamy Nagar, Madurai with 299.15 are placed third and fourth.

The full rank list will be displayed at the Anna University's examination centre tomorrow. It will be available on web sites: www.annauniv.edu/tnea2002, www.southindia.com, www.chennailistings.com, www.tnagar.com and www.eresults.info

According to an Anna University release, counselling for admissions to B.Arch course would be held in Chennai on June 24; for vocational stream candidates in Chennai only on June 25 (upto scores 224.47) and for the rest on June 26.

For regular academic stream candidates, counselling would begin on June 27 at the Anna University Examination Centre, the REC in Tiruchi, the Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.
