Suicide attack again

JERUSALEM JUNE 19. A suicide bomber sprang from a car and detonated explosives at a bus stop in northern Jerusalem on Wednesday evening, killing at least seven persons and injuring about 35.

The blast came hours after an Israeli announcement that it would gradually reoccupy Palestinian areas until terrorism stops. The Israeli decision was a response to a Tuesday suicide bombing on a Jerusalem bus in which 19 Israelis were killed.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Wednesday's attack. Hamas claimed credit for Tuesday's explosion in a leaflet saying it has prepared for a prolonged offensive against Israel that it called ``the war of the buses''. Hamas boasted that it had dozens of suicide bombers waiting to strike. The blast occurred in a part of the city that Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war, and which Palestinians claim for a future state. — AP
