The FRRO's summons to Mr. Perry, a Briton, came a few days after his write-up on the state of health of the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, appeared in the weekly. While official sources did confirm that Mr. Perry had two British passports, they refused to offer any further comment. Sources pointed out that it would be absurd to assume that the Government was in any way posing any threat to the security of Mr. Perry and dubbed the FRRO summons as a normal course of action. When contacted by The Hindu, the office of the Time magazine here refused to make any comment on the entire affair. Queries revealed that Mr.Perry was out of Delhi on an assignment and was likely to return soon and appear before the FRRO. The spokesperson of the news magazine in Hong Kong was not available for further comments.
