Two crude bombs defused

Ahmedabad June 22. Two crude bombs were recovered from the backyard of a prestigious school in Shahpur area of the walled city today, police said. Both the bombs were later defused by the bomb disposal squad. Police were tipped off about the bombs by an anonymous caller, following which senior police officials rushed to the spot along with the bomb disposal squad. Meanwhile, around 54 persons were arrested by the police under preventive measures yesterday, the sources added. Earlier on June 15, police recovered 17 sutli bombs in Rakhial area after seizure of explosives and weapons from the house of an absconding accused in the city. The bombs were found in the compound of a textile mill. — PTI
