Transfers of five top IPS officers cancelled

BANGALORE June 22. In a sudden and surprise move, the State Government has cancelled the transfers of five senior IPS officers and effected the transfers of two others.

The orders issued a week ago transferring and posting M.K. Srivastava as Inspector General of Police and Commander, Task Force, M.M. Hills, in place of Kempaiah, have been cancelled.

Mr. Srivastava, who was Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, Mysore, till recently, has been transferred with immediate effect, and posted as Inspector General of Police, Training, Bangalore, in place of B.E. Umapathy, who has been transferred.

Rajiv Pratap Sharma has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police and Commander, Task Force, M.M. Hills, in the downgraded post in place of Kempaiah.

The orders transferring and posting Kempaiah as Inspector General of Police and Joint Commandant General, Home Guards, and ex-officio Joint Director, Civil Defence, and Joint Director, Fire Force, Bangalore, issued on June 15, have been cancelled.

The orders transferring and posting S.T. Ramesh as Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police, Hubli-Dharwad, in place of Kuchanna Srinivasan, issued on June 15, have been cancelled. He is continued until further orders as Inspector General of Police, Police Computer Wing and Modernisation Scheme, Bangalore.

The orders transferring and posting N. Achutha Rao as Inspector General of Police, Computer Wing, in place of Mr. Ramesh, have been cancelled. Mr. Rao has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police and Joint Commandant General, Home Guards, and ex-officio Joint Director, Civil Defence, and Joint Director, Fire Force, Bangalore.

The orders transferring and posting Kuchanna Srinivasan as Inspector General of Police, Vigilance Wing, Water Resources Department, Bangalore, in place of M. Lakshman, issued on June 15, have also been cancelled.

He has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Bangalore, in the upgraded post in place of H.C. Kishore Chandra.

S. Ramakrishna, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Headquarters-I, Bangalore, has been transferred and posted with immediate effect as Commissioner of Police, Hubli-Dharwad, in place of Mr. Kuchanna Srinivasan.
