Transport strike hits Tripura

AGARTALA JUNE 22. Vehicular movement in Tripura came to a standstill today in view of the 12-hour transport strike jointly called by several unions to protest fresh hike in petrol and diesel prices.

All vehicles, including long distance buses, remained off the roads, sources said.

The unions termed the decision to hike the prices as `anti-people' and said it would inflict a financial blow to vehicle operators.
