'VHP has harmed itself'

NEW DELHI June22. The Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) today reacted sharply to VHP's stand that it would not accept the court verdict on the Ram temple issue, saying that by backtracking from its earlier commitment to abide by the court order the VHP has `discredited' itself.

``By challenging the judiciary, VHP has harmed itself and even those who were supporting it would distance themselves from it,'' BMAC Secretary,, Jaffaryab Jeelani said commenting on the stand taken by the VHP at its Hardiwar meeting today.

He said that nobody in the country would accept that court orders would not be followed.— PTI
