Militant confesses

KHANNA (PUNJAB) JUNE 23. The Lashkar-e-Taiba militant arrested by the Punjab police has confessed to his involvement in the Kaluchak massacre near Jammu, which claimed 32 lives, a senior police official said today.

The ultra, Abdul, a Pakistani national, who was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the train blast in Punjab early this year, made the confession during the interrogation by intelligence officials, the district police chief, Devinder Singh Garcha, said.

The militant had planned to kill about 20 Vaishno Devi pilgrims near Madhopur bordering Pathankot district, he said.

A local court today remanded Abdul to police custody till June 30.
