Letters to the Editor
Sir, All Left parties are breakaway factions of the Communist Party of India. Their senior leaders were at one time or the other active members of the CPI. During World War II, Subash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army and nationalist parties (other than the CPI and the Muslim League) fought the British to gain independence. The CPI cadres were partners of the British Raj at this juncture of history. It is strange for a prominent figure of INA, Lakshmi Sahgal, to be a spokesperson of the Left parties, whose cadres actively conspired against the freedom movement and the INA.
Rajinder Kumar,
New Delhi
