Letters to the Editor
Sir, This has reference to Supriya RoyChowdhury's article `The Presidential Election' (June 22). The author's views that Abdul Kalam is not a politician and therefore is not suited for the post of President are irrelevant. A scientist is sincere in his job whereas a politician is an opportunist. A person who is not a politician will be impartial in his duties. Dr. Kalam's candidature is a blessing in disguise.
S.K.Chari,
Tirupati, A.P.
