ONGC men killed by ultras

DIPHU (assam) JUNE 24. Five persons belonging to an ONGC drilling party, including a senior scientist, were killed and four injured in an ambush by suspected Dima Halam Daoga militants at Doldoli near here today.

The ultras fired from both sides of the road when the drilling party was returning to Diphu from its workspot at Dhansiri. Apart from the scientist, those killed were an assistant engineer, two general staff and a contractor. The police escort party accompanying the ONGC team retaliated but the casualty among the militants was not known.

A Central Industrial Security Force personnel accompanying the team was missing along with his arms.
